Lock's Quest is my first shipped title and my first game at 5th Cell. As the first designer hired specifically for the project, I became responsible for a variety of tasks throughout the project from map design to environmental art to scripting cut scenes. There are few areas in this game that I did not touch in some way, so I can see my love of this game in every screenshot.
A cut scene in-between battles. Interestingly, Isaiah used to be a higher rank. However, the term "second rank" and "third rank" were apparently too risky because they sound too similar to the derogatory "second-class" and "third-rate" terms. Because Isaiah is one of the few black Archineers (and for a long time, the only one), it risked an unintended hidden message. Part of this might be how most of our art comes from Malaysia, which is possibly unaware of these issues.
