The Shipyard

The Shipyard is a single player level for Quake 4 that I created as a solo project over a period of two and a half months, including time for documenatation and planning. The entire level uses only existing texture and model assets from Quake 4. This level features AI scripting and sequenced events as well as detailed world geometry created out of BSP brushes and patches. The level also includes custom particle effects, sound effect placement, and music.

When building in Quake 4's Radiant engine, there is so much room for detail that even simple halls like above require a great amount of polish and attention. With sufficient attention to the lighting, interesting and believable shadows can be created even despite the real-time nature and hard shadows inherent in the engine.
